The benefits of accreditation

The Good Business Charter (GBC) sets a high bar for responsible business, built on integrity and doing the right thing. Displaying the GBC-accredited logo signals to customers, employees, and partners that your organisation operates responsibly. GBC-accreditation provides:

✔ A clear signpost to customers, employees, suppliers, and other stakeholders that your organisation behaves responsibly.

✔ A practical framework that helps embed responsible business practices across your organisation.

✔ The foundations for long-term success, strengthening customer loyalty, employee engagement, and organisational resilience.

To ensure accredited organisations receive the recognition they deserve, the GBC and our partners actively promote the Charter and accredited organisations.

Accreditation process and requirements

The 10 Components:

The application process is simple and accessible. To receive GBC accreditation, organisations must meet the requirements for all 10 components (or 9 for public and third sector organisations). Each year, organisations are required to recommit to the components.

For more information on each component, click the icons below. If you’re not sure if you meet one of our requirements or need further guidance, contact our Accreditation team

The application process:

The application is based on self-certification, not paperwork. You will be asked to:

1. Confirm that you meet each of the 10 components.

2. Provide short examples of how your organisation puts the Good Business Charter components into practice.

3. Share basic organisational details (such as company number, employee count, and sector).

The application takes less than an hour to complete, and our team aims to process applications within 5 working days. Once accredited, organisations are required to display their GBC-accreditation logo prominently on their website and promote their accreditation internally and externally. Through our Resource Hub, you’ll gain access to practical tools and guidance to celebrate your commitment, embed the GBC principles across your organisation, and inspire others to follow your lead.

Accreditation questionnaires:

Below, you’ll find the questions you’ll be asked during the accreditation process. For organisations with up to 50 employees, we have collaborated with the Federation of Small Businesses to develop a streamlined version.

Accreditation tracking document for large organisations (51+ employees):

For large organisations (51+ employees), charities and public/third sector, Good Business Charter Renewal Tracker 2025 to support you in gathering information when going through the accreditation process.
