West Brom Building Society: Good Business Charter’s Commitment to Customers Champion

13th February 2025

West Brom Building Society has been Good Business Charter (GBC) accredited since March 2020, and is one of the earliest adopters of the charter.

The GBC chose the society as a supporter of its Good Business Fortnight this year, for its dedication to championing customers.

Showcasing their commitment

Ten accredited members are each highlighting one of the Good Business Charter’s ten principles – with the West Brom representing the Commitment to Customers component – showcasing the importance of trust, transparency and fairness in financial services.

The West Brom’s commitment to financial literacy and accessibility, support for vulnerable customers, community work and its engagement with members, is being showcased through a series of videos with colleagues from across the organisation and some of its partners.

Featured across its social channels, the campaign highlights the society’s partnership with Plain Numbers, supporting customers who find numbers challenging, and its accreditation as a Dementia Friend – featuring a branch colleague who shares how the initiative has made a difference to the customer journey. The series also explores how the West Brom ensures its products and services are designed fairly for customers.

Alex Windle, Chief Customer Officer at West Brom Building Society, said:

“Being named the Good Business Charter’s Customer Commitment Champion means a great deal to us. As a mutual building society, we put our customers interests at the centre of everything we do. Our values guide every decision we make, ensuring we support customers fairly, responsibly, and with their best interests in mind.

“We’re proud to be a part of Good Business Fortnight and to showcase the ways we engage with and support our customers.”
